A letter to Dwight

A letter to Dwight
To my brother,
Who has been offered the overdressing of the corporate world,
But chooses the simple wear of modesty, Who has been trained in the
complications of aloofness and self righteousness
But chooses the wise teachings of care, concern and consolation,
Who had been offered the path of false pride and fakeness
In order to associate with the wealthy and neglect the poor,
But refused that path for the down to earth walk of genuineness
And relations with all walks of people The time has come for you to choose a wife
For your youth is decreasing
And your need for companionship is growing,
bet wisdom be your guide so you can find the right match,
For the wife of wisdom is joy.
You must know the woman that walks with true love
For her seeds will grow into joy.
Be aware of the woman that goes from club to church
Searching for a man like a business opportunity.
She enters into a relationship
Like a bank enters into a loan with a borrower,
Her body and companionship is the loan And your finance and promise of riches Is the collateral she seeks.
Her dreams are not to love a man
But the lifestyles he offers.
She would encourage you
To give up your manhood and sell your soul
So she can keep the lifestyles she desires.
She sees children as inflation When the relationship is good And as an investment when the relationship is bad.
As long as you are in a relationship like
this
There would be an emptiness that cannot be filled,
A passion that cannot be served
And a love that cannot be expressed. And the day your fortunes slip”
She will not stand at your side.
She would pull that loan so quickly That your soberness would be challenged
And while you wonder where did the years go?
She would be looking to maximize her bargain
For she had recorded every deed she has done (did?)
And put a price next to it to increase the sum of the loan.
And she would use her children to drive up the interest rate.
Search for the simple woman with good virtues
Who is contented with your love, Consoles you on unkind days,
Lifts you with whispers of
encouragement
And you both build a bond
That is stronger than the challenge of life.
