Prayer to my personal guardian

Oh! Personal guardian

Oh! Spirit from heaven assigned to protect me,

Assigned to be with me wherever I go,

Who has saved my life many times,

Who has guided me away from the dumps of life,

Who has opened my eyes so I could see,

Who paff my ears so I could hear,

part

Who has unimpaired my mind so I can understand,

And I am the witness who need no more confirmation.

Please forgive me for I have written many poems

and songs and not wrote one for you,

I have become like the ungrateful child, Like the beggar who does not say thanks, Like the one who does not reinforce his house for the bad weather,

How could I be so shallow to know I am one blessed with words!

And not think that you would enjoy some for yourself,

For. I am a mirror of you

And I receive no blessings unless you approve of it,

And God does not hear my prayer unless you hear it first,

Lest I offend God.

You who have dressed me with the right

garments,

Who has sustained me when I thought I had nothing,

You who have allowed me to slip and not fall,

rise

So when I rise again, I raise knowing God,

You who have put love on my left side, Righteousness on my right side

And wisdom down my centre,

You who held the sweet things of life for the due time,

To ensure I would not be lost in

their sweetnessHence they become sour to me in the end,

But have given me the precious ore to refine myself,

You are like the hen that stand against the wolf for the sake of her chicks,

You are like the teacher who takes pride in saying that’s my student,

You are like the grocer who gives a limitless line of credit with no interest,

You are like the parent who has stored away riches for the child until they reach the right age.

I give God great thanks for the very rich blessing of having you.
